CHANGE OF BATON AND PROJECT COMMISSIONING AT THE FACULTY OF PHYSICAL SCIENCES

The immediate past Dean of Physical Sciences Prof Emmanuel K. Anakwuba, who was appointed
through an election conducted by the faculty board on 16th January 2023 during the first semester
of 2021/2022 academic session. has finally handed over to newly elected Dean of Physical
Sciences Prof V.E. Ejiofor on January 23rd, 2025. The occasion was held at the Dean's office at
Science Village.
As part of the valedictory program, the Acting Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University
Awka Prof Joseph Ikechebelu was at the faculty on the 14th of January to commission the
completed water projects, a 3000-litre capacity borehole executed by the faculty. The faculty has
remained without any form of water supply which has stalled academic programs. The water
scheme is also meant to supply water to the various laboratories, sanitation facilities, offices and
classrooms. After the commissioning exercise the Acting Vice Chancellor then went on to conduct

Virginia Ebele Ejiofor as the new Dean of the faculty.

Burial of Prof. V.I.E. Ajiwe
Dear Professors, Colleagues, Staff and Students of the Faculty of Physical Sciences and the entire University community, this is to announce the rite of passage of our dear father, mentor, teacher, and colleague, late Prof. V. I. E. Ajiwe whose sad event occurred on 22 March, 2023.

The Commendation Service in his honour will be on Thursday, 25th May, 2023 , commencing from the Faculty @ 9 am before moving to the University Auditorium @ 10am.

The burial will be on Friday, 2nd June, 2023 his hometown, Umungasi Aba in Abia State

The Faculty and University community are invited to attend both sessions and pay respect to our fallen hero.
