History of Department
The Department started as a unit in the Department of Mathematics/Computer Science in
1992/93 session and became a full Department in 1999/2000. The Department offers a BSc degree programme in Computer Science, to both regular and part-time students. The regular programme is for 4 years while the part-time is for 6 years. The Department also offers postgraduate programmes leading to the award of PGD, MSc and PhD in Computer Science in different areas of Specialization. Late Dr K.C Agbasi was the Coordinator of the computer science programme at inception as a sub-unit. Later in 1999/2000 session when the computer science programme as a sub-unit evolved into a full Department, Late Dr K.C Agbasi became the pioneer Head of the Department.
